hype gta
weekly toronto region program
HYPE GTA is a free, youth-led program for people ages 18–29 living with HIV across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Continuing the legacy of North America’s longest-running HIV+ (poz) youth program PYO, HYPE GTA reimagines a more open, flexible, drop-in space where you set the pace. Whether you need support, connection, or just a place to exist without explanation, HYPE GTA is designed to meet you where you are.
Built by and for poz youth. Register here.
Our downtown Toronto space will be open from June 2026 onwards on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12pm–8pm. Come by for a few minutes or stay all day. There is no intake pressure, no expectation to share, and no fixed path. Each week includes a structured Peer Circle (Thursdays, 5pm–8pm)—a facilitated group space led by HIV-positive youth, focused on real conversations about dating, disclosure, meds, mental health, stigma, and everything in between. Outside of that, the space operates as a true drop-in: informal, social, and responsive to what participants need.
HYPE GTA removes the barriers that keep poz youth isolated. Free transit support is available across the GTHA, including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa, Burlington, Oakville, and Hamilton. Free dinner is provided on Thursdays during program hours. You do not need to pay, explain your situation, or arrive with a plan.
This is not a clinical program. It is a peer space grounded in lived experience, where HIV-positive youth connect with each other directly—without hierarchy, without judgment, and without being reduced to a diagnosis. If you are newly diagnosed, long-term positive, out, private, struggling, stable, or somewhere in between, you belong here.
